License
LeanTrack is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3), or (at your option) any later version.
In plain terms: anyone can download, run, and modify their own copy for any purpose, including commercially. If you distribute a modified version to others, that version has to stay open under GPLv3 too — it can't be turned into closed-source software downstream.
This page is a summary, not legal advice — the
full license text
is what actually governs. It's also in the LICENSE file
in the repository.
No warranty
GPLv3 already spells this out formally, in its own sections 15 and 16: LeanTrack is provided "as is," with no warranty of any kind, and its author isn't liable for any damages arising from using it.
In plain terms: use it at your own risk. LeanTrack holds your team's tickets, comments and files on your own server, so keeping that server safe, up to date and backed up is up to you. The code is fully open — see the repo — so you can always check exactly what it does before you run it.
Third-party code
LeanTrack bundles two libraries, so it never loads anything from outside servers. Both licenses allow use in GPLv3 software.
| Library | Version | License | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quill | 2.0.3 | BSD-3-Clause | The rich text editor |
| HTML Purifier | 4.19.1 | LGPL-2.1-or-later | Cleaning rich text before it's saved |
About contributions
The license governs what you can do with your own copy of the code — it doesn't grant write access to the official repository. That stays maintained by the author. See the feature requests page for how to suggest a change instead of submitting it directly.
